After undergraduate schooling I was focused on coaching soccer and lacrosse as an assistant on the coaching staff and honed in on my love of sports psychology which spurred me to continue my education to become a mental health counselor. During graduate school I has practicum and internship with CHE Psychological Services providing mental health counseling at St. Ann's home in Rochester, NY. After graduation I secured a position with Rochester Regional Health Outpatient Behavioral Health clinics and moved from a primary therapist, to a senior therapist, to a lead therapist and then transitioned to a PROS program as a coordinator while I was building this private practice. I am solely providing care as a private practice therapist and couldn't be happier to be serving my clients that are throughout New York State.
I live with my husband and our two cats in Western/Upstate New York. I am continuing to follow my passion of playing (soccer) and coaching (soccer and lacrosse) at SUNY Geneseo by working with athletes as clients no matter what level of sports you are previously or currently involved in. The identity of an athlete is an important one to keep perspective on as it impacts many areas of life for people with relationships, schooling, and work. I am a certified yoga instructor and enjoy my home and studio practices. My hopes to complete another half marathon are alive as well.
I am currently accepting new clients that are located in the state of New York as that is where I am licensed to practice mental health counseling. I provide telehealth sessions to clients in many parts of New York from Buffalo to Long Island. I am originally from Long Island and have been fortunate to be able to provide services to downstate clients and reconnect with that area. Please note that I accept various insurance policies but I do not currently accept Excellus insurance.
I have a dynamic approach for therapy currently pulling from DBT informed practices, narrative and strength based and solution focused and humanistic perspectives. My therapy practice and professional growth are continually evolving and progressing alongside my personal growth as a human.
As humans we naturally experience feelings to help us stay alive and safe. When feelings and fears go into overdrive in our mind, body, and soul that begin to or further negatively impact our relationships or ability to work or care for ourself or others is a crucial time to seek out the support of a therapist and other resources. Through counseling we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
We may not be able to determine when things started feeling overwhelming but with therapy we may be able to help you piece together the feelings and experiences to help move forward. Through challenging thoughts and activating our body through breath or movement we can overcome these symptoms and restore balance in your mind, body, and soul.
Counseling can be beneficial to individuals to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship with self or others. Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home. Please reach out for more information on how to connect with this service if you are currently in New York State.
